ADORBOND® CC Plus Softblank is a dental cobalt-based metal-ceramic alloy. ADORBOND® CC Plus Softblank is free of nickel, cadmium, beryllium and lead and complies with EN ISO 22674 type 4 for applications with thin cross-sections which are vulnerable to very high pressure, e.g. removable partial dentures, clasps, thin veneered single crowns, fixed full-arch dentures or bridges with small cross-sections, webs, reinforcement and implant-supported superstructures.

Design | ||||||
The design is carried out using suitable CAD software, taking into account the rules of dental technology. Avoid wall thicknesses of less than 0.35 mm in the CAD model. Increase the wall thickness in critical areas. Wall thickness for anterior teeth: 0.4 mm, for posterior teeth: 0.6 mm, for abutment teeth: 0.6 mm. Make the connector as thick and high as possible (height: min. 3.5 mm, width: min. 2.5 mm). |
Milling
All standard HSC milling machines for dental applications can be used. Please use suitable tools and cutting data according to the manufacturer's instructions for the dental milling machine. After completion of the milling work, the Adorbond CC Plus Softblank must be visually inspected and must meet the following criteria, otherwise the milled part may not be used for the fabrication of dental restorations:
- No material chipping recognizable
- No cracks observed
Sintering
Under no circumstances may the framework be steamed or exposed to any other moist environment (e.g. ultrasonic bath) when green (unsintered).
Place the frameworks in the sintering tray filled with sintering beads for sintering. For good support, place the frameworks on the sintering beads with light pressure. The beads should not become jammed in the interdental spaces or in the crown cavities. Assemble the sinter tray and sintering aid. Place the sintering tray including the sintering aid in the high-temperature furnace with inert gas connection and ensure that the sintering aid is arranged correctly. Follow the operating instructions for the high-temperature furnace. Carry out the sintering process according to the manufacturer's instructions for the sintering system. Sintering program: Holding time at 500°C / 1130°C / 1280°C with argon supply 3.5 to 4 h each and a heating rate of 5 K-min-1 between the holding times. At the end of the program, remove the sintering aid with tongs. If the framework or certain areas show oxidation, the sintering result must be selected

Ceramic firing
The commercially available normal-melting firing ceramics for cobalt firing alloys with a suitable coefficient of thermal expansion can be used. Please
Observe the corresponding working instructions and the ceramic manufacturer's specifications regarding the cooling rate after firing. After devesting:
1. cutting off the connectors and finishing. Carbide cutters are recommended for this.
Blast the framework surface in the stylus blaster with aluminum oxide 100 µm or 250 µm.
3. clean the framework in distilled water with ultrasound or with ethyl acetate degreasing agent.
4. oxide firing (optional to check the surface) 5 min at approx. 960 C under vacuum. After firing, always sandblast the oxide layer again and
degrease again.
Note: cleanliness of the surface is the best protection against bubbles in the ceramic.
Apply a thin layer of Wash firing, then apply the second base firing to achieve an even coverage.
Always let paste opaque dry for 5-10 minutes at 600°C before heating.
6. firing and cooling according to the instructions of the manufacturer of the ceramic mass used.
In the case of long-term cooling, carry out a cooling phase up to approx. 750 °C after each Dentin, Correction and Glaze firing.
Finishing up
After firing the ceramic, rubberize the unveneered parts of the framework and polish them with a polishing paste for dental alloys or with rotary polishing tools to
Polish to a high gloss.
Soldering and welding
Soldering before firing with commercially available solder and associated high-temperature flux. The width of the solder gap should be 0.05-0.2 mm. Laser welding with
commercially available laser welding wire.
Safety instructions
Metal dust is harmful to your health. Use suction when handling the powder, by finishing works and blasting. Hypersensitivity to the alloy components should be taken into account. In case of suspected intolerance with certain alloy components, the product should not be used.
